KOA – Nashville Music Valley Dr
Have you ever pulled into a campground and just knew that you would be coming back?
That’s how we felt about the Nashville KOA on Music Valley Drive. We used it as a strategic stop over on our way to Mount Rushmore and therefore we were only able to spend one night there. That one night, however, was more than enough to hook us as our “must stay” campground when we visit the Nashville area again.
We truly felt right at home and the staff was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive.

We booked a deluxe site with patio set and fire ring. It was beyond spacious! We had big rigs on both sides and we still felt like we had plenty of room and privacy. The site was long enough to accommodate our 43ft motorhome and tow vehicle with room to spare!
The park was filled with a nice mixture of class A’s, travel trailers and fifth wheels. I did not see tent sites, but wouldn’t doubt if there were a few sites here.
The campground
The playground is decent. It’s location right next to the pool is a big plus. A jump pillow is also in the pool area. There is a main pool with depths from 3-5 feet and a kiddie pool at a depth of one foot. The boys enjoyed a good hour or two splashing around in the pool with the other campers.
There is a giant chess set and bowling alley outside the camp-store/office/lounge.
Inside there is a lounge with TV and a giant connect four set. A great place to escape the heat and entertain the kids.
Sites – All of the deluxe sites were well manicured, spacious and level concrete pads. Our site was spacious with a nice feature of dual sewer hookups! The patio furniture was nice and even had a love seat swing. It was landscaped nicely with plants and a rock feature. Of course my boys loved digging in the rocks. I don’t know if it is just our site or this time of year but we enjoyed watching quite a few squirrels run around and play. Even being this close to the highway and city, I heard many more birds chirping than cars.
Location – It’s only a few minutes from the Grand Olde Opry Hotel and Opry Mills Mall. There is plenty of shopping, tourist excursions and amusements such as Nashville shores very near by. (add link to our review)
Bottom line – This is a KOA that we love! There’s even a shuttle ($10 a head round trip). It will pick you up from the office and take you into the sites of Nashville and it runs pretty late for you party types. 😀 I could see our family spending 4-7 days at this location to relax and explore Nashville.!
