If you have ever visited a Jellystone campground, you know they tend to be very family friendly places to camp. I recently visited our local Jelly stone in GA. It is located in Bremen, Ga about 20 miles west of Atlanta. For our family it was a relatively short trip, about and hour and a half to get to the campgrounds.

Check-in was a breeze. There was a fall festival going on, so they used a walkie-talkies to find our site number and directed us directly to our site. The staff impressed me with their friendly customer service focus. They could have easily been overwhelmed with the extra people at the campgrounds due to the festival.

The Camp store was surprisingly sparse. I was borrowing my mother in law’s Rv and assumed that I could just buy some extra supplies in the camp store. I was wrong. They didn’t event have all the components needed to make s’mores. There is a Wal-Mart located about 2 miles away that stocks everything you might need for camping.

This is not a very large campground. There was 105 RV sites divided into and inner circle and outer circle. We stayed in site 105 on inner circle, right near the camp store. All the 105 spaces have 30 or 50 amp service and more than 90% of the sites are pull through. Plenty of space for your rig and a toad. Site was gravel and very long. Our site had DIRECTV connection available. Liked the fact the roads inside the campgrounds were paved. The boys spent hours riding their scooters. All the kids had a blast sharing their scooters and bikes.

New in 2015 they added some cabins. Many campgrounds are doing this attract more people to the campground. We think it’s a great idea and a great way to increase revenue.

Even thought this Jellystone isn’t the biggest, there are tons of activities and things to do for the kids. Here Is a list of available activities and things to do.

  • Train ride around inner circle of campground.
  • 2 playgrounds and two separate swing sets
  • Horseshoes
  • Mini golf
  • Pools
    • 1 – kiddie with splash pad
    • 2nd pool next to kiddie for adults/teens
  • Fishing pond
  • Gem mining
  • Outdoor movies
  • Hayrides
  • Jumping pad

Very cool petting zoo with the following animals:

  • Alligator – which the kids got a chance to pet
  • Two very large Turtles – kids can sit on and take pics
  • Two parrots
  • And a snake – Boa that kids can take a picture with, but not hold.

It attracts a lot of locals, which I have no problem with campgrounds trying to earn extra money.

Bottom line

I had a blast here on our “boys only” weekend. Plenty for the boys to do at the campgrounds. It’s small enough, that I could keep track of the boys basically from my site. Having this campground  so close, makes it a place that we will definitely visit often. If you want a small, friendly, fun filled campground, then this needs to be on your list to visit!
