While you may take chances and visit random campgrounds, we definitely strive to do more detailed research before we commit to making that reservation. If we decide to make a change from a previously planned stop, we will jump online and check out as much information on the campsite as possible. We use the internet (Yelp and trip advisor are great resources), RVparks.com, Good Sam directory, and maybe most importantly other RVer’s recommendations.
Picking a campground that you will enjoy depends on your own wants and needs from a campground.
As a family traveling with three young boys, we have a few things that are required and desired in our campground choices. Of course, not everything we want is always offered at a campground and we may still choose to stay there for other reasons. Our list also depends on the length of stay. For example, if we are using the campground as a one night rest stop, the list is much shorter than if we plan to stay 3 or more days.
So I guess there are at least two lists!
This should get you started with thinking about the things that you might find to be “must haves” as you plan your next RV trip.
